Classes 6th-12th (Elementary Level, Secondary and Sr. Secondary)


Over 150 labs have been established in Delhi and Uttarakhand to date.

Scope

ATL is a workspace where young minds can give shape to their ideas through hands-on do-it-yourself mode; and learn innovation skills.


Children will get a chance to work with tools and equipment to understand the concepts of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math).

Atal Tinkering Labs

Atal Tinkering Labs (ATLs) are dedicated innovation workspaces established in schools across India as a part of the Atal Innovation Mission (AIM), an initiative by the Government of India. These labs are designed to foster curiosity, creativity, and hands-on learning among students, particularly in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM). Atal Tinkering Labs are equipped with state-of-the-art facilities and resources such as 3D printers, robotics kits, electronics components, and design software to support students in their innovative endeavors. These labs also provide mentorship and guidance from teachers, experts, and professionals to help students develop their ideas into tangible solutions. Overall, Atal Tinkering Labs play a crucial role in nurturing a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship among students, preparing them to become future-ready and contributing to India's growth and development in the field of technology and innovation.

‘The Tinkering Carnival’

Tinkering Carnival 2022, organized by RAA Labs of IIT Kanpur in collaboration with the UEE mission of the Department of Education, NCT of Delhi, showcased students' innovative projects. These models addressed local and global issues, demonstrating the program's success in fostering creativity and practical knowledge. Each project reflected the students' insights into everyday challenges.

‘Rashtriya Avishkar Abhiyan Laboratories’

In collaboration with UEE mission, Department of Education, NCT of Delhi. 136 Rashtriya Avishkar Abhiyan Laboratories were established and successfully implemented in FY 2019-22. These RAA labs are in line with Atal Tinkering Labs and the guidelines of NITI Aayog. Various capacity building workshops, including training on robotics, IoT, electronics, and other STEM related activities were conducted under this initiative

'Flying Drones'

In one Tinkering Lab in Uttarakhand, students and teachers are actively engaged in practicing how to fly drones and understanding the technicalities involved. This hands-on experience allows participants to explore the mechanics and controls of drone technology, providing a unique opportunity to learn about aerodynamics, programming, and the various applications of drones in real-world scenarios.
